ਭਾਈ ਨੰਦਲਾਲ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਨੰਦਲਾਲ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ੍ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ, ਬਸ ਨੰਦਲਾਲ ਦਾ ਇਹੀ ਇੱਕੋ-ਇੱਕ ਚਾਅ ਹੈ।
CharhdiKala-High Spirit
Bhai Nandlal's poetry is exceptionally optimistic and religious in tone but has universal appeal like that of Maulana's. As I have read Goya, I find Goya's poetry quite optimistic or I would say his poetry has CharhdiKala-high spirit. One can not find even a single phrase in his poems which can state that his poems have something like pessimism. It was all because he was a man of high ideals like Guru Gobind Singh and lived according Gurmat. Goya's poetry basically deals with love and reverence for Lord. Goya has classic style of writing like that of Hafiz, Sa'adi and Maulana. Bhai Nandlal, the poet laureate of Dashmeah's court, has deep love and respect for Guru Sahib and the Khalsa. Goya rendered the Gurmat philosophy and love for Gurus in his 'Ganjnameh' and other works.
Goya was so dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh ji as he says:
"Lal sage-gholāme-Gurû Gobind Singh
Dāghdāre-nāme-Gurû Gobind Singh"
Nandlal is the tame dog in the service of Guru Gobind Singh, he has his heart engraved with Guru ji's name.
Gurujii's company gave Bhai ji high-spirit that he rendered throughout his poems. He never uttered a word which tend to be pessimistic in tone.Reader gets rejuvenated after reading his poems. It is rightly said that Goya's poetry is nectar. He himself has said:
"She're-goya zendegi bakhsh ast chon ābe hayāt
Bálkeh az pākīzegi zābe baqā khāhâd gozâsht"
